The Whole Backstage Founding Mother, Dot Moore, passed away quietly at her home on Browns Creek Road on Monday, April 8,
just after 9:30 a.m. She was 79 years old. After the deaths of 3 teens in Marshall County in 1968, Dot spearheaded the
creation of what would become known as “The Teen Club”, which in 1973 evolved into The Whole Backstage Theatre as we now know it.
Dot's tireless efforts and boundless enthusiasm for the arts and the great potential within people are embodied in our cherished institution.
The broad and immeasurable impact Dot has made to the betterment of our community is one for which we all are eternally grateful.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to The Whole Backstage, part of which will go to the formation of a Dot Moore Memorial Scholarship.
