Black Tie Christmas 2016

Directed by Johnny Brewer

Black Tie Christmas Organizational Meeting and Sing-Through

The highly successful Whole Backstage Black Tie Christmas Choral Concert in 2015 will reprise a portion of that production for this holiday season. Director Johnny Brewer announces, “We are reuniting choral members, along with new ones, and are teaming up with Marshall Medical Centers and Guntersville First United Methodist Church to present festive concerts on December 16, 17 and 18.

An organizational meeting and sing-through workshop is scheduled for October 16 at 2:00 p.m. and October 17 at 6:30 in the Reception Room at the WBS Playhouse. This meeting is set for anyone who would like to join in singing in the Christmas concerts. New and former choral members are invited to attend and begin rehearsals, including sacred and secular music.

“This sing-through is simply a gathering of folks to listen and sing along with some of the music associated with the concert,” says Director Johnny Brewer, “Hopefully it will give everyone a sense of what music will be presented. This meeting will provide an open opportunity for performers to decide about being part of the production, and if not, then it will be a fun time to enjoy singing some Christmas music. Everyone is welcomed.”

Director Johnny Brewer explains, “Marshall Medical Centers are sponsoring Black Tie Christmas for a special entertainment event for their doctors and staff. We have also teamed up with Director Lori Bailey and the Guntersville First United Methodist Church Chorale to present, The Living Christmas Tree in a combined choir with the WBS. Our concerts will be a Christmas gift to the community. Admission is free!”
