Meet Me in St. Louis Synopsis

This lively musical tells the story of the idealized upper middle class family, the Smiths, just prior to the 1904 World’s Fair, the biggest event St. Louis had ever seen. The four daughters range from Tootie, who charmingly diagnoses her dolls with fatal diseases, to the elder 17 year old, Esther, who has fallen in love with the new neighbor, John. The main conflict is revealed when Mr. Smith announces his transfer to New York.

Great musical numbers in this show make it a favorite. These include “The Trolley Song,” “Skip To My Lou,” and the all time favorite, ”Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” The period costumes, the songs, and the warm story all combine to make this a treasured production.
